Precision Pharmacovigilance

Meaning

Precision pharmacovigilance is an advanced, data-driven approach to drug safety monitoring that utilizes an individual’s unique genetic, metabolic, and clinical profile to predict, detect, and manage adverse drug reactions with high specificity. Moving beyond traditional, passive population-level surveillance, this method leverages pharmacogenomics and biomarker data to identify patients at the highest risk of specific side effects from hormonal or other endocrine-modulating therapies. The overarching goal is to personalize drug safety and significantly maximize the therapeutic index for the individual.
