Post-TRT

Meaning

Post-TRT is a clinical abbreviation referring to the period immediately following the cessation of Testosterone Replacement Therapy. This phase requires careful endocrinological management as the body’s natural Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal (HPG) axis, which was suppressed during exogenous testosterone administration, attempts to resume endogenous testosterone production. The goal of post-TRT management is often to facilitate the fastest and most complete recovery of testicular function and hormonal balance, mitigating symptoms of transient hypogonadism.
