Post-Treatment Brain Fog

Meaning

Post-Treatment Brain Fog is a descriptive, non-clinical term for a persistent and often distressing constellation of cognitive symptoms experienced by individuals following various medical interventions, most commonly chemotherapy, radiation, or hormone therapy. The syndrome, formally known as cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI), includes significant deficits in executive function, difficulty with concentration, poor working memory, and a generalized sense of mental cloudiness or slowness. This condition significantly impacts a survivor’s ability to return to normal life and is a major focus in long-term survivorship care.
