Post-Pill Syndrome

Meaning

Post-Pill Syndrome refers to a collection of signs and symptoms that may manifest in individuals after discontinuing hormonal contraception. This phenomenon is attributed to the body’s physiological adjustment as it transitions from an exogenous hormone-regulated state back to its endogenous endocrine rhythm. The syndrome encompasses a spectrum of changes as the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis reactivates and re-establishes its normal function.
