Positional Ergonomics

Meaning

Positional Ergonomics is the applied science of designing and arranging the immediate environment and one’s body within it to promote optimal musculoskeletal alignment and minimize physiological strain during static or repetitive tasks. In the context of wellness, it focuses particularly on optimizing postures during prolonged sitting, standing, and especially during sleep, to support spinal health and neurological function. Effective positional ergonomics prevents the accumulation of micro-trauma and chronic tension.
