Population Enrichment

Meaning

Population Enrichment is a strategic design element in clinical trials aimed at increasing the likelihood of successfully demonstrating a treatment effect by selecting a study cohort with specific, predefined characteristics. This involves enrolling only those participants who are more likely to respond favorably to the investigational therapy or who have a demonstrably higher risk of the target clinical event. In hormonal health research, this often means selecting patients with a clearly defined hormonal deficiency or a specific genetic polymorphism.
