PM2.5 Exposure

Meaning

PM2.5 exposure refers to the inhalation of airborne particulate matter measuring 2.5 micrometers or less in aerodynamic diameter. These microscopic particles, often invisible to the naked eye, originate from various combustion sources and industrial processes. Their diminutive size enables deep penetration into the pulmonary alveoli and subsequent entry into the systemic circulation, posing a direct interface with human physiology.
