Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy

Meaning

A regenerative medicine treatment that involves isolating and concentrating platelets from a patient’s own blood and then injecting this plasma into a target area, such as a joint, tendon, or skin tissue. The therapeutic effect is derived from the high concentration of growth factors and cytokines stored within the platelet alpha-granules. In the context of hormonal and aesthetic health, PRP is used to stimulate tissue repair, collagen production, and hair follicle growth. It is an autologous treatment, minimizing the risk of allergic reaction or disease transmission.
