Pituitary Gonadotropes

Meaning

Pituitary gonadotropes are specialized cells located within the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. These cells are responsible for the synthesis and secretion of two critical hormones: Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH). Both LH and FSH are collectively known as gonadotropins, playing a fundamental role in regulating reproductive physiology in both male and female individuals.
