PI-3K Pathway

Meaning

The PI-3K Pathway, or Phosphatidylinositol 3-Kinase signaling pathway, is a critical intracellular cascade that regulates fundamental cellular functions, including metabolism, growth, proliferation, survival, and hormone action. It acts as a major hub for integrating external signals from growth factors and hormones to dictate the cell’s response, making it one of the most studied pathways in molecular endocrinology and oncology. Dysregulation of this pathway is implicated in numerous chronic diseases.
