Physiological Variability

Meaning

The inherent and dynamic differences observed in biological parameters, responses, and homeostatic set points both among different individuals (inter-individual variability) and within the same individual over time (intra-individual variability). This concept acknowledges that biological systems are not static but constantly fluctuate in response to genetic background, age, environmental factors, and lifestyle. Clinical interpretation of diagnostic tests and therapeutic efficacy must account for this intrinsic biological heterogeneity.
