Physiological Setpoint Shifting

Meaning

The therapeutic modification of the body’s genetically and environmentally determined homeostatic baseline for key physiological parameters, such as basal metabolic rate, body weight, or circulating hormone levels. This shifting is a clinical intervention aimed at establishing a new, more advantageous equilibrium that supports improved health and longevity outcomes. It moves the body out of a suboptimal, entrenched state. Successful shifting requires sustained intervention.
