Physiological Set Point Alignment

Meaning

Physiological set point alignment is the clinical objective of restoring the body’s various homeostatic regulatory systems—such as those governing body weight, core temperature, blood pressure, and hormone levels—to their genetically and metabolically optimal equilibrium ranges. This alignment aims to correct the ‘drift’ that occurs due to chronic stress, poor diet, or aging, which can lead to a dysfunctional, but defended, set point. Achieving alignment is crucial for sustained health and metabolic efficiency.
