Physiological Response

Meaning

A physiological response is any change or adjustment in the function of an organism, organ, or cell resulting from an internal or external stimulus. These reactions are the body’s mechanisms for maintaining homeostasis, adapting to stress, or executing a specific biological program. Examples include the release of cortisol following a stressor or the increase in heart rate during exercise, all of which are orchestrated by the nervous and endocrine systems.
