Physiological Prejudice

Meaning

Physiological Prejudice is a form of bias or discrimination that manifests when judgments, assumptions, or adverse decisions are made about an individual based solely on their measurable biological characteristics or physiological status, particularly those related to health, aging, or hormonal function. In the employment context, this prejudice can occur when an individual with a biomarker profile suggesting an age-related decline in testosterone or a predisposition to metabolic syndrome is subtly disadvantaged, reflecting a bias against perceived biological vulnerability or future health costs. This subtle bias challenges the principle of meritocracy.
