Physiological Linkage Assessment

Meaning

Physiological Linkage Assessment is the clinical and research methodology used to quantify the degree of non-random temporal correlation between the biological signals of two or more individuals in a close social context, such as a family or couple. This assessment typically involves simultaneously measuring parameters like heart rate variability, skin conductance, respiratory rate, or hormonal fluctuations. The resulting metrics provide an objective measure of the degree of physiological coregulation and interdependence within the dyad. This objective measurement reveals the subconscious biological connection between partners.
