Physiological Inositol Ratio

Meaning

Physiological Inositol Ratio refers to the naturally occurring, optimal concentration balance between the two primary inositol stereoisomers, Myo-Inositol (MI) and D-Chiro-Inositol (DCI), within human tissues and plasma. This ratio is critical for proper cellular signaling, particularly for the insulin and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) pathways. In healthy individuals, the plasma ratio is approximately 40:1 (MI:DCI), while specialized tissues like the ovary maintain a significantly higher MI concentration to ensure appropriate function.
