Physiological Doses

Meaning

Physiological doses refer to the quantity of a hormone, nutrient, or pharmaceutical agent administered that closely mimics the concentration naturally produced or required by the healthy human body. In clinical endocrinology, this dosing strategy aims to restore hormone levels to a youthful or optimal endogenous range, avoiding the supraphysiological levels that can lead to receptor down-regulation or adverse side effects. The goal is to support, rather than override, the body’s inherent hormonal architecture.
