Physiological Adjustments

Meaning

Physiological Adjustments are the complex, dynamic changes and compensatory responses that occur continuously within the body’s biological systems to maintain internal stability, known as homeostasis, in response to various internal or external stimuli. These adaptive adjustments can be acute, such as a rapid increase in heart rate during physical exertion, or chronic, like the long-term changes in insulin sensitivity in response to persistent dietary habits. In hormonal health, this refers to the body’s inherent capacity to modulate hormone secretion, receptor expression, and metabolic rate to sustain optimal function.
