Physical Output Capacity

Meaning

Physical output capacity is a quantifiable physiological measure representing the maximal rate and duration at which an individual can perform mechanical work or sustain physical effort. This capacity is a composite metric dependent on the efficiency of the cardiorespiratory system, muscular strength and endurance, and the rate of metabolic energy production and waste clearance. Maximizing this capacity is a core goal of fitness and performance physiology.
