Phenotypic Discrimination

Meaning

Phenotypic Discrimination refers to the unjust or prejudicial treatment of an individual based solely on their observable biological characteristics, including physical traits, measured physiological markers, or their explicitly documented hormonal health status. This can manifest as unfair differential treatment in access to employment, insurance coverage, or social opportunities due to an inferred or explicit health condition or risk profile. It is a form of health status bias.
