Phenotypic Biomarker Assessment

Meaning

The clinical evaluation of measurable biological characteristics, or biomarkers, that are the observable expression of an individual’s genetic code and environmental influences, known as the phenotype. This assessment focuses on dynamic, functional metrics like circulating hormone levels, metabolic panel results, inflammatory markers, and physical measurements (e.g., body composition). It provides a real-time snapshot of the body’s current functional state, contrasting with static genetic data.
