Phase II Trials

Meaning

Phase II Trials constitute the second stage of a multi-phase clinical investigation, following initial safety assessments, designed to evaluate the efficacy and therapeutic dose range of a new medical intervention in a specific patient population. These studies typically involve a few hundred participants who have the disease or condition targeted by the treatment. The primary goal is to determine if the drug demonstrates sufficient biological activity and a manageable side effect profile to warrant further, larger-scale investigation.
