Phase-Based Training

Meaning

Phase-Based Training, or menstrual cycle-based training, is a personalized exercise and nutritional strategy that intentionally aligns the type, intensity, and volume of physical activity with the fluctuating hormonal environment across the phases of the female menstrual cycle. This approach leverages the physiological effects of estradiol and progesterone to maximize training adaptations, optimize recovery, and mitigate injury risk. It represents an application of chronobiology and endocrinology to athletic and general wellness programming for women.
