Pharmacodynamic Assessment

Meaning

Pharmacodynamic assessment is the clinical and scientific evaluation of a substance’s biological effects on the body, specifically measuring the relationship between the drug concentration at the site of action and the resulting physiological response. Unlike pharmacokinetics, which studies what the body does to the drug, pharmacodynamics studies what the drug does to the body. This assessment is vital in endocrinology for quantifying the therapeutic efficacy and potential side effects of hormonal modulators and supplements.
