Ph Stability

Meaning

pH stability refers to the capacity of a biological fluid, such as blood, saliva, or a pharmaceutical formulation, to maintain a consistent hydrogen ion concentration, measured on the pH scale, despite the addition of small amounts of acid or base. In human physiology, the tight regulation of blood pH, typically between 7.35 and 7.45, is critical for all cellular and enzymatic functions, including optimal hormone receptor binding and metabolic pathway efficiency. Deviation from this narrow range can be life-threatening.
