Personal Setpoints

Meaning

Personal Setpoints refer to the unique, genetically and environmentally influenced physiological range for various biomarkers, including hormone levels, metabolic parameters, and body weight, around which an individual’s body attempts to maintain strict homeostasis. These setpoints often fall within a narrower range than the broad laboratory reference intervals and represent the individual’s optimal state of health and function. Clinically, identifying and targeting a patient’s personal setpoints is paramount for achieving superior wellness outcomes, as simply being “within range” may still represent a suboptimal state for that specific person.
