Perimenopausal Symptoms

Meaning

Perimenopausal symptoms represent the array of physiological and psychological changes experienced by individuals during the perimenopause, the transitional phase preceding menopause. This period is characterized by fluctuating and eventually declining ovarian hormone production, primarily estrogen and progesterone. It encompasses the time from the onset of these symptoms until 12 consecutive months of amenorrhea, which defines the final menstrual period.
