Perimenopausal Arrhythmia

Meaning

Perimenopausal arrhythmia refers to the occurrence of irregular heartbeats or palpitations experienced by individuals during the perimenopause, the transitional period preceding menopause. These cardiac rhythm disturbances often manifest as premature atrial contractions, premature ventricular contractions, or episodes of sinus tachycardia, and are typically considered benign in the absence of underlying structural heart disease.
