PAPPA2

Meaning

PAPPA2, or Pregnancy-Associated Plasma Protein-A2, is a specific metalloproteinase. This enzyme plays a role in modulating the bioavailability of insulin-like growth factors (IGFs). It achieves this by cleaving IGF-binding protein-5 (IGFBP-5), which subsequently releases IGFs to exert their biological actions.
