Oxidized Peptides are peptide molecules that have undergone a chemical alteration, typically the addition of oxygen or the loss of electrons, most commonly affecting amino acid residues such as methionine, cysteine, or tryptophan. This oxidative damage results in a structural modification that can significantly compromise the peptide’s native conformation, leading to a substantial loss of biological activity, altered receptor binding, or accelerated metabolic clearance.
