Ovulation Induction

Meaning

Ovulation induction is a clinical fertility treatment involving the use of specific medications to stimulate the ovaries to develop and release one or more mature eggs. This therapeutic intervention is primarily utilized for women experiencing anovulation or oligo-ovulation, conditions where hormonal imbalances prevent regular, spontaneous egg release. The goal is to restore normal ovulatory function, thereby increasing the probability of conception either naturally or in conjunction with timed intercourse or intrauterine insemination.
