Ovulation Impairment

Meaning

Ovulation impairment is a clinical term defining a spectrum of disorders where the normal release of a mature egg from the ovary during the menstrual cycle is irregular, infrequent, or completely absent. This condition is a primary cause of female infertility and often indicates an underlying dysregulation of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Ovarian (HPO) axis. Identifying the specific nature and cause of the impairment is the first step toward restoring reproductive function and addressing the systemic hormonal imbalance.
