Ovarian Reserve Markers

Meaning

Biochemical and biophysical indicators used in clinical practice to estimate the quantity and quality of a woman’s remaining oocytes, or eggs, within the ovaries. These markers provide a snapshot of a woman’s reproductive potential and are critical for evaluating fertility status and predicting response to ovarian stimulation in assisted reproductive technologies. Key hormonal markers include Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH), often assessed alongside an Antral Follicle Count (AFC) via ultrasound.
