Ovarian Inflammation

Meaning

Ovarian inflammation describes a pathological state characterized by the activation of immune cells and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines within the ovarian tissue. This condition is frequently implicated in the pathogenesis of various reproductive disorders, including Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), diminished ovarian reserve, and endometriosis. Chronic, low-grade inflammation within the ovary disrupts the delicate follicular development and hormonal synthesis processes.
