Ovarian Angiogenesis

Meaning

Ovarian Angiogenesis is the essential physiological process involving the formation of new blood vessels within the ovarian tissue, a phenomenon tightly regulated by hormonal and growth factors. This vascular remodeling is a recurrent and necessary event that supports the rapid growth and development of the ovarian follicle, the rupture of the follicle during ovulation, and the subsequent formation and maintenance of the corpus luteum. Adequate angiogenesis is critical for normal reproductive function.
