Organic Hypogonadism

Meaning

Organic Hypogonadism, also known as structural hypogonadism, is a clinical diagnosis characterized by deficient sex hormone production resulting from a demonstrable, identifiable structural or functional defect within the testes, ovaries, pituitary gland, or hypothalamus. This condition is distinct from functional or secondary hypogonadism, which is often reversible and due to systemic stressors or non-structural issues. Identifying the organic etiology, such as a tumor, infection, or genetic disorder, is crucial for determining the appropriate clinical management and prognosis.
