Organic Foods

Meaning

Organic Foods are agricultural products that have been produced and processed according to specific, legally defined standards that prohibit the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and routine use of antibiotics or growth hormones in livestock. Within the context of hormonal health, consuming organic foods is often advocated to minimize exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and residual agricultural chemicals that can interfere with the body’s delicate endocrine signaling pathways.
