Oral Conjugated Equine Estrogens

Meaning

A specific, commercially available mixture of estrogens derived from the urine of pregnant mares, administered orally, used primarily in hormone replacement therapy for the management of menopausal symptoms. This formulation contains a complex blend of various estrogenic compounds, including estrone, equilin, and equilenin, which are chemically conjugated, making them water-soluble for oral absorption. It represents one of the oldest and most studied pharmaceutical estrogen preparations.
