Nutritional Anemia

Meaning

Nutritional Anemia is a clinical condition characterized by a deficiency in the concentration of red blood cells or hemoglobin, directly resulting from an inadequate intake, impaired absorption, or inefficient utilization of essential micronutrients required for healthy erythropoiesis. The most prevalent forms include iron deficiency anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency anemia, and folate deficiency anemia, each stemming from a deficit in a specific nutrient critical for cell division and oxygen transport protein synthesis. This condition leads to a diminished oxygen-carrying capacity in the blood, manifesting clinically as chronic fatigue, weakness, and impaired physical and cognitive performance. A precise diagnostic workup is essential to identify the specific nutrient deficiency.
