Non Physiological Peak

Meaning

A Non Physiological Peak refers to an unnaturally high concentration of a circulating substance, typically a hormone or a drug metabolite, that exceeds the range or rhythm observed under normal, healthy, endogenous conditions. These peaks are often the result of inappropriate timing or quantity of exogenous administration, or a failure in the body’s clearance mechanisms. Clinically, a non-physiological peak can saturate receptors, disrupt delicate negative feedback loops, and increase the risk of adverse side effects. The presence of such a peak is a sign of poor Hormone Timing Strategy.
