Non-Obstructive Azoospermia

Meaning

Non-Obstructive Azoospermia (NOA) is a severe form of male infertility characterized by the complete absence of sperm in the ejaculate due to impaired sperm production within the testes, rather than a blockage in the reproductive tract. This clinical diagnosis indicates a failure of spermatogenesis, often linked to underlying genetic, hormonal, or structural defects of the seminiferous tubules. It requires specialized endocrinological and genetic evaluation for management.
