Non-Invasive Sensing

Meaning

Non-Invasive Sensing refers to the clinical and technological practice of monitoring and measuring physiological parameters and biochemical markers without penetrating the skin or requiring the withdrawal of a biological sample like blood or urine. This methodology employs external devices and advanced sensors to continuously or intermittently collect data on vital signs, hormonal proxies, and metabolic activity, offering a patient-friendly and continuous assessment of physiological status. Examples include continuous glucose monitors, wearable heart rate variability trackers, and advanced skin-based sensors for metabolite detection, all contributing to a dynamic, real-time understanding of an individual’s endocrine and metabolic state.
