NF-κB Signaling

Meaning

NF-κB Signaling refers to the critical intracellular pathway centered on the nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κB), a ubiquitous protein complex that functions as a crucial transcription factor. This pathway is a master regulator of genes involved in the immune response, systemic inflammation, cell survival, and proliferation. In hormonal health, chronic activation of NF-κB signaling is directly implicated in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance, chronic inflammatory states, and age-related decline.
