Neutralizing Antibodies (NAbs)

Meaning

Neutralizing Antibodies, or NAbs, represent a specialized class of antibodies that directly impede the biological function of a pathogen or toxin. They achieve this by binding to critical sites on the target, preventing its interaction with host cells or receptors. This specific binding renders the pathogen or toxin incapable of exerting its harmful effects, thereby effectively neutralizing its activity.
