Neuroplastic Change

Meaning

Neuroplastic change, or neuroplasticity, is the intrinsic capacity of the central nervous system to reorganize its structure, function, and connections in response to environmental stimuli, experience, injury, or biological demand. This fundamental biological property allows the brain to adapt, learn new skills, and recover from damage by forming new synapses or modifying existing neural circuits. It is the core mechanism underlying cognitive training and behavioral modification.
