Neuroendocrine Cascade

Meaning

A Neuroendocrine Cascade is a sequential series of signaling events that begins with neuronal input and culminates in the release of hormones from endocrine glands, effectively linking the nervous system and the endocrine system. This hierarchical communication system allows the brain to rapidly translate sensory information and emotional states into widespread, long-lasting physiological changes throughout the body. The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis is a classic example of this critical cascade.
