Neurochemical Debt

Meaning

Neurochemical Debt represents a deficit or imbalance in critical neurotransmitter reserves, often resulting from chronic high demand, insufficient precursor availability, or impaired recycling mechanisms. This state compromises optimal neuronal signaling, leading to downstream effects on mood regulation, cognitive function, and the stress-responsive HPA axis. It is a functional depletion of the brain’s signaling capacity.
