Neural Tissue Integrity

Meaning

Neural Tissue Integrity refers to the fundamental structural, functional, and biochemical soundness of the central and peripheral nervous system, which includes the health of individual neurons, supportive glial cells, myelin sheaths, and the integrity of the blood-brain barrier. Maintaining this integrity is absolutely fundamental for optimal cognitive function, precise emotional regulation, and the accurate execution of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis and other complex hormonal feedback loops. Compromised neural integrity is often recognized as a precursor to neurodegenerative diseases and various chronic stress-related disorders.
