Neural feedback loops are the continuous, self-regulating circuits within the nervous system where the output of one component feeds back as input to another component, thereby modulating the system’s overall activity. These loops are essential for maintaining physiological stability, controlling hormone secretion, and coordinating complex behaviors. A prime example is the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis, where sex hormone levels feedback to the brain to regulate their own production.
